Amateur rider Jamie Brace was taken to hospital in Gloucester for further assessment following a fall at Cheltenham.

His mount Minellaforleisure, trained by Alex Hales, also went for examination after being brought down by Innocent Touch at the second-last flight in the Cheltenham Pony Racing Authority Graduates’ Handicap Hurdle.

“Minellaforleisure has gone for further assessment to Three Counties Equine. Jamie Brace is conscious and talking. He’s going to Gloucester for further assessment,” said clerk of the course Simon Claisse.

Innocent Touch and his rider, Alice Stevens, were reported to have escaped relatively unscathed.
