This mares’ novices’ hurdle over 2m1f is the newest edition to the Festival having its third running this season so there is little to comment on trends-wise, except that Laurina is likely to be hard to beat given Willie Mullins’s record in mares’ races at the Festival.

His two short-priced favourites for this race, Limini and Let’s Dance, both won with plenty to spare and Laurina won the same listed hurdle as Limini at Fairyhouse very easily, form that was then franked by the runner-up who went on to win a mares’ handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Best of the British looks to be Maria’s Benefit who won a Grade 2 at Doncaster in gutsy fashion after setting up a big lead, but those tactics are very hard to pull off in the New Course over hurdles with just two flights of hurdles in the final three quarters of a mile.
